Batman Forever was more than just a movie—it was an EVENT.
The Armitron watches (I had the Riddler!), the SNES and Sega Genesis games, Batman Forever: The Arcade Game, the McDonald’s promotion—and that soundtrack, featuring Seal, U2, The Flaming Lips and a wonderfully eclectic collection of mid-’90s music.
In 1995, Batman was EVERYWHERE.
Thirty-one years later, I’m looking back at a movie that helped re-energize the Batman franchise for a whole generation—and one that I think deserves another look.
Neon. Jim Carrey. Val Kilmer. Question marks. Video games. Happy Meals. “Kiss from a Rose.” Bat-nipples.
Sappy Says: Batman Forever is better than you remember.
